Our Process From Scrap to
High Grade Metal

At Metal Tek Industries, we follow a rigorous, quality-controlled process to transform
raw materials into refined, reliable metal products. Here’s how we do it:

Step 1
Scrap Collection & Inspection

We source scrap materials from trusted vendors, both local and international. Every batch is carefully inspected for quality, safety, and suitability for processing.

Key Inputs:

  •   Used Lead Acid Batteries
  •   Industrial lead scrap
  •   Copper scrap
  •   Plastic and bag house dust (for secondary products)

Step 2
Pre-Processing / Segregation

Collected materials are sorted into categories (metal, plastic, lead paste, etc.) using both manual and automated techniques. Hazardous components are separated for safe handling.

Step 3
Battery Breaking

Used lead-acid batteries are manually dismantled by trained technicians under strict safety protocols. The components are carefully separated into:

  •   Lead paste and grids
  •   Plastic casings
  •   Electrolyte (acid), which is neutralized safely

Though manual, this process is done in a controlled environment to ensure:

  •   Maximum recovery
  •   Worker safety
  •   Minimal environmental impact

Step 4
Smelting in Cupola Furnace

The separated lead is charged into our cupola furnace — one of the largest in the country. The furnace melts the lead scrap under controlled temperature and atmospheric conditions.

Key Features:

  •   High thermal efficiency
  •   Emission controls
  •   Real-time monitoring systems
  •   Plastic and bag house dust (for secondary products)

Step 5
Refining & Alloying

Molten lead is transferred to refining kettles, where impurities are removed and specific alloys are created based on customer specifications.

Processes involved:

  •   Desulfurization
  •   De-arsenication
  •   Alloy adjustment with calcium, tin, antimony, etc.

Step 6
Laboratory Testing

Each batch is tested in our in-house lab for:

  •   Purity levels
  •   Metal composition
  •   Physical and chemical properties
  •   Plastic and bag house dust (for secondary products)

We ensure compliance with international standards like ASTM, JIS, and BS.

Step 7
Ingot Casting & Cooling

Refined lead is cast into standard or custom-sized ingots using high-efficiency casting lines. Once cooled, the ingots are weighed, labeled, and stored in pallets.

Step 8
Packaging & Dispatch

Finished goods are carefully packed with tamper-proof wrapping, labeled with batch numbers, and dispatched via secure logistics channels.

We guarantee:

  •   On-time delivery
  •   Export-grade packing
  •   Full traceability

Environmental Responsibility

Throughout the process, we maintain strict environmental protocols:

  •   Emissions are filtered using bag house filters.
  •   Solid waste is minimized and properly disposed of.
  •   Effluents are neutralized.

Why Our Process Matters

Transparent process ensures accurate orders.

  •   Efficiency – Reduced waste, higher yield.
  •   Reliability – Consistent batch quality.
  •   Transparency – You get what you order.
  •   Compliance – Aligned with global standards.
